Update 1.0! (new area, new ending cutscene, new containers, QoL etc.)


The big update is finally here! Here's the changelog:

  • added a proper ending cutscene
  • added proper logo
  • added a final third area to the level, required to be completed in order to trigger the new ending cutscene
  • collecting everything no longer resets the level and instead allows you to keep playing
  • renamed difficulty modes (freeroam is now soulful, easy is now haunting, hard is now terrifying)
  • added spooky difficulty, which has checkpoints and no timer
  • haunting difficulty now allows you to respawn from the start of an area and continue for as long as time allows after dying
  • added nightmare difficulty, unlocked after completing a run on any difficulty
  • added checkpoints to soulful difficulty
  • added sfx/vfx for when you home a collectable in with magic
  • added the ability to "walk" faster after spinning, maintaining the speed from whatever stage of spinning you were on before it slowly disappates back to regular "walking" speed
  • adjusted title screen
  • adjusted lighting
  • adjusted level geometry
  • adjusted some textures
  • added mirror containers that require the player to pass through all nearby mirrors in a certain amount of time in order to shatter them and reward collectables, they also will spin in response to fireball/iceball/spinning/diving and can damage the player when they do this
  • added small enemy type crystalent
  • fixed incorrect rendering of the snowterror's scarf
  • added mimic containers that require the player to use either fireball or iceball on them, spinning or diving them will result in them trying to bite and damage you
  • adjusted collectable/container placement
  • adjusted ghost witch broom model
  • camera now collides with damaging surfaces like lava instead of passing through it
  • fixed a bug that could cause the player to be facing the wrong way at the start of the level
  • fixed a bug where an npc could not be damaged/frozen more than once
  • fixed title screen not being correctly post processed
  • fireball will burn out instantly if a new one is shot before it has naturally burnt out or collided
  • time before you regain full control has been lowered when taking damage
  • taking damage now resets your ability to glide/hop/dive/air spin
  • adjusted ice wall breaking vfx
  • added some environmental sfx
  • increased max falling speed
  • increased iceball collider size
  • increased fireball collider size
  • iceball now breaks cauldrons
  • added an unstick feature to falling
  • added missing gradient colors on gate cost numbers
  • lowered game volume overall
  • added pitch randomization to container breaking sounds
  • increased the height gain from the bouncy spiderweb in the well
  • you no longer loose the ability to home in nearby collectables after taking two hits of damage
  • fixed icons on the hud jittering on occasion
  • increased the maximum speed you can glide at
  • timer now pauses when respawning or changing area
  • added death planes in areas where it previously took too long to fall to death
  • added offset to idle animations for enemies
  • fixed texture LOD stages lerping smoothly on animated textures instead of snapping as intended
  • hopping off broom now has a slightly lower minimum and slightly higher maximum height
  • talking to NPCs now lowers music volume

amazing update, i finally returned to complete it now
