I just found out this game cuz of Rerez and I'm really sad that someone would steal someone's passion project for a few extra bucks.

(+1)

Really enjoy the game itself though

(+13)

Found out from Rerez this game was stolen, edited and shoved onto the Nintendo E-Shop.... THOSE ASSHOLES!!! Would like to support and hope for a Linux or Steam Release.

(+7)

Same. It's really upsetting to see such a lovely passion project get this kind of awful treatment. I am sure it is really soulcrushing as a small indie dev to have this happen. But I hope that the video brings the kind of good attention and support that this game should've had from the beginning. <3 I would love to see this become a fully realized game.

(+2)(-1)

Right now; I'd start a boycotting movement or at least a method to make Nintendo sweat harder than watching Palworld put the screws to them. Stop the theft and the slop.... And discover this project is on Indefiniate Hiatus.... Wait, Indef- NOW I REALLY WANT TO KICK NINTENDO'S ASS AND THE SLOP PIECE OF CRAP THAT NEEDS TO STRAIGHT UP SUFFER!

(+2)

I wonder if Rerez will spark more interest in the game.

Sparked my interest, I'd kill for another Spyro game. (Metaphorically)
Mostly because I liked how they setup the first 3 mechanically, how they kept adding more onto it and just... It was fun.

I see this, see it's about as fun; want to see it keep going... Then it's indefinite hiatus.... and it's not supported on Linux.... I'm more pissed about the former than the latter; which if the reason why is because of those FREAKS who made that piss-poor Switch version of whom if I ever discover the group behind those publishing, they are in for a brutal awakening... Then yeah; causing a dev to quit something with this much potential, it makes me angry.

If they put it on Hiatus like this because of life; then I'd be less angry, but everything feels like the former than this latter...

(+1)

It was on hiatus long before that shitty Lotzo HugNbat game.

Well, my rage is subsided then, but I am still pissed off someone stole/ripped the game like that.

(+3)

Is there anywhere i can get the ost? i really love it!

(+12)

Found your game thanks to Rerez, Hope you launch it somenday

(+20)

Be aware, your demo is being sold in the eshop!!!! Someone decompiled it and changed some colours but is a straight copy https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/lotzo-and-the-ray-of-light-switch/

(+1)

This is my first attempt at playing this game. I don’t understand what I have to do, what the purpose of the game is, but the game is cool. I will try again later.

(+6)(-2)

I really hope this game gets finished, man, it was over WAY too soon. I'd honestly pay full price for a complete experience with these characters and this story. Best wishes to ya going forward

(-4)

It's a shame that Activision Blizzard had to fuck it all up, now the developer transformed the game into a Spyro clone with an original character

Are there any news on the game? Or the devs?

(+3)

Cyreides posted a video 10 days ago. It's not about Zera specifically, but it's a sign he hasn't abandoned game development.

(+2)

I hadn't seen your reply here, and yet I stumbled onto exactly what you meant: I saw this video from a few days ago of a small game called Spooky Adventure. It struck me as a Spyro-inspired game, and when I went to check, hey, turns out it's from the same fella!

(+1)

Well, how about that! Life finds a way.

It sure does!

(+1)(-16)

no update since 2020, no information since 2022, game is dead

(1 edit) (+1)

What an incredible project! This was seriously one of the best things I've played in a long time. You guys managed to perfectly capture what made the Spyro games so fun while also introducing new mechanics to make this game stand on it's own. The character design, music, aesthetics, and game play are all top notch. What an amazing job you've all done! I really hope we get to see more from Zera in the future!!

As soon as I start the game, the character starts walking in a circle constantly, and never stops, without any input on my end (I used input checkers to make sure it wasn't coming from my controller or keyboard). And with a controller connected, moving the right stick repeatedly pauses and unpauses the game. I have no idea why that's happening, but it's not playable at all for me, and it's not something that I'm doing wrong.

(+1)

This is purely based on what controller you have. Unity is known to be a bit of a Bitch when it comes to controller Support.

The Game Works fine on Mouse and Keyboard.

(+2)(-6)

this seems fine, but i would really like to see a continuation of the original plan when it was SPYRO myths awaken

(+4)

Well I bet if you asked Activision nicely, they'd JUMP at the chance to license the rights to the Spyro IP to the devs of this game free of charge, no strings attached.  Definitely, I'm serious, no cap, real real.

(+2)

Wouldn't that be a dream come true? In all honesty, you gotta hate big corporations that strike down fans for fangames. Then again, the licensing laws corporations made are at fault for this. Without them Spyro would be able to be used by everyone.

guess what. Actiblizz shut it down because all they care about is money, money, money and more money.

So no It's not probably gonna BE a continuation of the ORIGINAL plan. But honestly, I like that it's more of a spiritual Successor anyway, instead of it being what it was.

(-3)

It's dead, Jim

Cool game! My fav in this month actually)

(+1)

Hi there! Cool game!

I have some feedback, if you would like it-

I used the joystick, and it worked well, but during the charge, it seems like its either "fully to the left" or "fully to the right". There isn't like "turn slightly to the left" with the joystick. Or it was at least very sensitive.

I also felt like the normal walking animation was a bit weird looking, but the charge and gliding animations were really good.

I really like how fast and smooth the gliding is, and the somersault thing that you can do out of hover adds a lot of fluidity to the movement

Something about the camera felt a little off... maybe it was too zoomed in for me? I tried increasing the FOV, but I would prefer if you could increase the distance.

I had a bunch of fun though, big spyro 1 vibes.

Thank you so much for sharing your adorable character and even more adorable game with the world, I had so much fun learning to control Zera's shmovement, and I managed to 100% all levels sans Mystic Towers. I hope you overcome your burnout Cyreides, regardless of the future of Zera. All the best!

(+1)

What engine do you use to make it?

Unity 3D

(+2)

Linux version?

(+1)(-2)

😊👍

I am dreaming?

(+2)

Really fun game, Reminds me of the good ol' days. Best of luck to the DEV. Hope they're feeling better. No rush take all the time you need, you are clearly passionate about the game that shines through in the quality. But you still have to take care of yourself first. - DG

(+8)

Just read the new announcement, and not gonna lie, its disappointing. BUT, burn-out is awful. Take the breaks you need, keep the pace you need. I'll be here regardless when its ready.

mac version please :(((( M1 means no more bootcamp

(+1)

You guys did a great job with the presentation of the game. The PS1/Spyro aestheticis spot on!

(1 edit) (+2)

They are working on it, they have been showing new stuff on their YouTube. Everything takes time. And there's a lot of pressure on artists to live up to their own standards of quality to set for themselves.

Played it, recorded it, loved it! I love that Zera is an axolotl & a bat. Super adorable! I also love the costumes.

(+1)

The Classic graphics style is absolutely beautiful. The game makes good use of the different jump combos, surprisingly difficult to master but so much fun! Can't wait for more. Also shoutout to Dayoman who got me onto this.

the demo is so great, like there is so much potenial in here like i can't wait for the future of this game.

my one issue is that i tried connecting ps4 controller with the game normally and with ds4, but when i start the game zera starts walking right and the camera and when press any button it does different functions, why is that

DS4 as in DS4Windows? Try without if that's the case.

i did try but it still happens

(+1)

I had the same issue, If you're still trying to get this to work, I used my ds4 by running the game through steam (didn't use ds4windows).

(+2)

Good lord I don't know what to say. It's great so far! I'm excited, :D Totally not at all biased due to my love of bat-related characters c:

(1 edit) (+3)

I recently replayed the Spyro trilogy on PS1 and this feels like a true successor to those games. Remember how Spyro 2 added a number of new abilities after Spyro 1? Zera: Myth Awakens is the next evolution in that system with a deep, but rewarding control scheme. It reminds me of a mix of Spyro (obviously) and Super Mario Odyssey.

All this game is missing is voice acting (please find a way to make this happen, the game lacks a bit of charm without it).

(+1)

Awesome game! It has unique and original characters, excellent music that captures that Spyro feel with a modern twist, and truly retro aesthetics. As well as my favorite, good gameplay, that makes a platformer feel like a platformer. This could totally be a fast paced parkour game.

I definitely recommend if you at all like Spyro and platformers!

(+1)

This game is awesome but, it does need some more story like beginning cutscenes n stuff but i know cutscenes are hard to code n stuff. but I'd really love to see speedruns :D

any way to purchase at 5 dollars at itch io anymore?

Seconded! I'd like to know as well.

(+1)

You can't anymore.

(+1)(-1)

will this be on the nintendo switch? I'd love to play it :)

(+2)

Wow. I really like this! Discord invites dead, but I'd love to follow along as it develops!

Whoops! It should be fixed now!

(+2)

This looks so good and so nostalgic... :) Will it be on Mac?

(+2)

Maybe eventually, right now it's a bit hard to manage as I have no way of debugging issues that appear on that version :c

(+2)

ah fair play! Could do some bug testing for you when it's up but all best of luck with the process 😊 Excited to see it when you're all finished (even on pc -i mean like trailers etc) Cheers.

(+3)

Zera is so adorable!!! I enjoy the game a lot if there were zera´s plushies I will buy them

(+2)

Great job holding onto the work that went in since Spyro became Zera.  I've been following this since before Reignited.  I'm hoping Activision will make another Spyro game, but in the meantime, thanks for this reimagining.

(+1)

Absolutely love this and more than happy to donate to you for this amazing game that has so much potential to be my new favorite platformer. The movement options this game provides makes the game so fun to experiment with.
